 | The Construction Industry Education Foundation (CIEF) is excited about the 2025 Portland Trades Day Event – A Day for Construction Career Exploration!
Trades Day introduces high school youth to industry career opportunities in construction, design, sub-contracting, heavy equipment, engineering, and other skilled trades.
We hope you – our partners from the skilled trades, industry, training, post-secondary programs, and others – will join us to inspire local students to pursue careers in construction. Bring a hands-on activity for students to explore all the industry has to offer; teach them how to swing a hammer, try their hand at mixing cement, scale a wall for roofing, or throw on some PPE and get them welding. NEW THIS YEAR - Top Exhibitor Competition!
The Top Exhibitor competition is a new feature at CIEF Trades Day that celebrates exhibitors who create exceptional, student-focused booths. Judges evaluate each booth using a standardized rubric that scores five key areas: student engagement, hands-on activity, educational value, creativity, and professionalism.
Winners are selected based on total scores and judge nominations for top booths. The top exhibitors will be recognized with an award and will also be featured in post-event communications and promotional materials. Participation is optional, and exhibitors can opt out on the Exhibitor Needs Form.

Schools will register for two-hour blocks between 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
